Practical Nursing at PCTC
The Practical Nursing program at Page County Technical Center is an 18 month program open to eligible high school seniors and adults. The program is approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing, but is not accredited by a nursing education accreditation body.
SCHEDULE
The first year is half a day Monday through Friday from 8:30 am until approximately 11:10am with 5 full (8 hour) clinical days in the second semester.
The second year is full time Monday through Friday 8:15 am until 2 pm for classroom days with clinical days and hours varying. The school schedule correlates with Page County Public Schools calendar and begins in August and ends in May.
Upon successful program completion, graduates are eligible to apply to take the NCLEX-PN licensing exam.
TUITION COST
Tuition for in county residents is $3000 PER YEAR for tuition and $3500 PER YEAR for out of county residents.
High school students are loaned textbooks and adult students are given a list of required text which cost approximately $500 per year.
First year students are required to complete a background and social services check for $35. A required drug screen will be completed in the beginning of second semester of year 1 which costs the student approximately $85.
Additional fees in the second year include required books approximately $400 and ATI Testing approximately $1100 for the year. NCLEX fingerprinting cost approximately $40 and the NCLEX PN registration cost $370.
