Public Input Requested on the PCPS ARP ESSER Plan
Page County Public Schools (PCPS) is seeking public comment on its American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act Elementary and Secondary School Relief (ESSER) fund. The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) has allocated approximately $6.3 million of ARP ESSER funding to PCPS.
PCPS is requesting input from employees of Page County Public Schools, as well as parents/guardians and members of the community on how the funds should be used to assist the school division in recovering from learning that may have been lost due to COVID-19 as well as ensuring the health and safety of students and staff. Participants may choose to provide input on how students’ academic, social, emotional, and mental health needs might be addressed.
Public comment can be submitted through the use of this form through Wednesday, August 25, 2021. The input provided will be reviewed and included in the development of the final draft of the plan prior to its official submission.
The plan can be found on the division’s webpage or by clicking https://5il.co/xf90

Thank you, and please share.

Good evening PCPS Students and Families,
On Thursday, August 12, 2021, there was a State Health Commissioner Order of Public Health Emergency Statewide Requirement to Wear Masks in K-12 Schools. The order states that all individuals aged two and older are required to wear masks when indoors at public and private K-12 schools in order to inhibit spread of the virus.
All faculty, staff, students, visitors, or other individuals over the age of two present in any PCPS school, office, work, or other indoor location are required to wear a face mask. Additionally, there is still an order in effect from January of 2021, from the CDC, that requires face masks on all forms of public transportation. This includes school buses and division cars and vans.
Please be prepared to wear a mask when you participate in our Open House events this week. Schools do have masks available if needed.
The order did include a list of exceptions for which various individuals may qualify. This information is being reviewed by PCPS staff. More detailed information will be shared prior to the start of school for families.
Thank you for your continued support of PCPS!
Antonia M. Fox, Ed.D.
Superintendent

PCPS elementary students participated in the Summer Enrichment program which focused on friendships, self-regulation, and communication by completing a variety of engaging STEM activities. These students were able to work together, without using their voices, to create a fictional 'monster' from everyday materials. Special thanks to all the PCPS staff who ensured the success of Summer Enrichment 2021.
