All PCPS schools and offices will open on a two-hour delay on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. Please expect some delays in transportation as our drivers will travel with extra care and caution.
We ask everyone to do a health assessment in the morning and if you are not feeling well, please stay home. We need everyone’s help to ensure that we can all stay in school when weather does not impact us.
Also, we ask parents or guardians of students who drive to school to talk with them about being extra careful in the morning. We want everyone to arrive safely and ready to learn.
All PCPS faculty and staff are asked to check their email for additional information.
Thank you!

Good morning Luray High and Luray Middle Families,
This morning a threat made on a social media platform was shared with school administration. The post mentioned several schools, two of which had the initials LHS and LMS. Staff began an immediate investigation and, as a precaution, both schools moved into a modified lockdown process for a short period of time to monitor everyone entering and exiting the buildings.
In conjunction with the Page County Sheriff’s Office, it was determined that this was not a credible threat to any PCPS school. The schools referenced in the post are in South Carolina but have the same initials as LHS and LMS. State and federal law enforcement officials are also involved..
At no time were LMS or LHS students or staff in any danger. We are communicating this information in an effort to be as transparent as possible and to dispel any misinformation that may be circulating.
As a precaution, we do have additional law enforcement at each PCPS school today.
We also want to commend the student who immediately brought this information to the attention of school administrators.
Thank you for your continued support of PCPS.
Dr. Fox

LHS agriculture and FFA are selling poinsettias! We have mostly red but also have a few white plants. They are $7 a plant and come wrapped in a gold foil wrap.
Students in both intro to plant and horticulture classes have been growing these plants themselves since August! Students have watered, fertilized, spaced, pinched, and helped care for over 250 plants and it's been a great learning experience for them. If you would like to support them and our agriculture program by purchasing a poinsettia please call Ms Rines or Mrs. Cornell at (540)743-3800. All money goes back into providing this experience in the future!

Adia Hill and Olivia Scalzi competed in Public Forum Debate at SHENVAFL 3 at Harrisonburg High School and received 2nd place among 25 other Public Forum Pairs! It is only their second time ever competing in Public Forum debate, and they are rocking it!
