Good afternoon PCHS and PCMS Faculty, Staff and Families,
Staff at PCMS and PCHS were alerted to a student making references to possibly having a weapon in their backpack. The student was immediately detained and searched and no weapon was found. At no time were students or staff in danger and there is no active threat related to this matter. We are notifying everyone to minimize rumors and reassure everyone that we are aware of the situation, it continues to be investigated and law enforcement is involved. The student will be held accountable in accordance with the PCPS Student Handbook and Code of Conduct and through law enforcement.
We want to assure you that we continue to take these reports very seriously with the safety of our students and staff continuing to be a top priority. While this particular report did not result in the discovery of a weapon, we are continuing to review our practices to ensure that we are doing everything possible to keep our school community safe.
Please know that we are committed to maintaining an environment where students and staff feel secure, and we continue to encourage all staff, students and families to report anything that may be concerning. Thank you to those who stepped up to bring this matter to the attention of adults today.
Thank you for your continued support of PCPS, PCMS and PCHS.

Good evening Page County High School Faculty, Staff and Families,
Late this afternoon, Page County Public Schools (PCPS) was made aware by the Page County Sheriff’s Office (PCSO) of a threat toward the school that was made by a student. This threat has been investigated by the PCSO and the student involved will not be at school. Threats of this nature are taken very seriously with consequences given in accordance with the PCPS Student Handbook and Code of Conduct. Additionally, law enforcement will remain involved as the matter has been referred for possible charges.
Should your child need to speak with someone, counselors and administrators will be available tomorrow and as needed moving forward.
Parents and Guardians - we need your help - please speak with your child about not making threats of any kind - verbal, in writing, or through social media. Please remind them that making threats is not a joke, it is not funny, and it cannot be resolved by saying “I was just kidding.” Take a moment to also check your child’s phone and monitor your child’s social media apps for messages, videos, or interactions that may be concerning or warrant additional attention.
We also ask for your continued help in providing a safe and secure learning environment for everyone - if you or your child become aware of any potential threats please immediately notify a school staff member, a school resource officer, or contact law enforcement. You can also use the StopIt App to report anything that you may see, hear or read. More information about the StopIt App can be found HERE.
Over the next few days, administrators will be reviewing with students why we do not make threats and the potential consequences of making threats - both from a school and law enforcement standpoint.
We are committed to providing a safe learning environment for all students and staff. Thank you to the PCSO, all of our law enforcement partners for their assistance and support, and to the person who reported this information to law enforcement.
Thank you for your continued support of PCHS and PCPS.

Just a quick reminder, students need to bring their Meal ID Card (the green card with a barcode) to school every day! 🏫🍎 This card is essential for accessing school meals and ensures a smooth and efficient process in the cafeteria.
Please make sure it’s in their backpack or lunchbox each morning. If they’ve misplaced it, let us know so we can get a replacement sorted.
