Page County Middle School 6th grade students in Mrs. Swartzlander's class went on a mini field trip to the Shenandoah River. There the students investigated the water quality of the River. Healthy macroinvertebrates were found and the water was also tested for several abiotic factors. Water quality tests included PH, phosphate, nitrate, and dissolved oxygen. Studying the health of the river is an excellent resource to learn from, as it ultimately impacts the Chesapeake Bay.
