We were by far the smallest team in our district by the numbers, but not the smallest in heart! With only five total members, and four new to running, this team went above and beyond what anyone could have expected from them. They learned and grew from each practice and meet. Each member cut at least a minute off their first meet time and they refused to stop in any race. The last meet of the year was the most challenging. The district meet had the largest number of competitors and the weather was cold and windy. This team did not let that slow them down, they pushed through and did an amazing job representing Page County Middle School. The lone girl on this squad, Brenna McKay, finished 11th out of 42 runners. That is amazing for a first year runner! Look out next year ladies! The four boys did not disappoint either. With a total of 40 plus runners, our boys came out and gave it their all! Bentley McKay led the way with a 16th place finish, Landon Bosley and Colin Murphy came in next at 28th and 29th place, and Hudson Cave finished in 30th place overall. The future of PMCS cross country looks very bright with these five leading the way! It was an honor and a privilege to coach them this year and watch them learn and succeed on the run.
