Practical Nursing II students at Page County Technical Center experienced an engaging hands-on learning opportunity through the Obstetric Hemorrhage Escape Room as part of their Maternal Newborn Course. Designed to simulate a high-stakes obstetric scenario, this immersive activity aimed to enhance students; critical thinking, teamwork, and decision-making skills in the context of managing obstetric hemorrhage—a crucial aspect of maternal care.
Practical Nursing students collaborated as a team, with each student taking on a designated role mirroring those within a healthcare team, such as the primary nurse, physician, novice nurse, and support staff. Through a series of clues the students navigated a series of interactive activities to identify and address an obstetric hemorrhage promptly and effectively.
