Mrs. Pettit’s Medical Terminology students at Page County Technical Center tested their knowledge of anatomical directions and terminology by performing "Potato Man Surgery." The student surgeons were required to perform tasks such as amputating the distal end of the left leg, suturing a laceration in the cephalic area, and removing the patient's spleen.
Clinical Medical Assistant students are currently learning about Human Body Systems and exploring diseases and disorders that pertain to those body systems. Pictured are students observing what otitis media (middle ear infection) with perforation (ruptured eardrum) looks like using an otoscope.
This class is just one example of the classes offered by Page County Technical School that helps to prepare students for possible future careers. Many of these will leave these programs and have job opportunities waiting for them upon completion of high school.
