The Welded Truck Bed Bench - PCTC Welding 1 and 2 Boys and Girls worked together to create a custom bench from an old, rusty truck bed for Mr. Strassner, Mr.S donated the bed to the program and there was enough of the bed left to make a second for the school. They carefully planned their project considering the design and the materials they had. The students used their welding skills to cut and shape the bed, transforming it into a functional piece of furniture. The project not only allowed students to practice their techniques, but also encouraged teamwork and creativity. In the end they proudly displayed the finished product showcasing their hard work and dedication. In collaboration with Mr. Strassner's Auto class. This will end up being a cross-curriculum project as The PCTC Auto Boys will be rewiring the tail lights to be functional.
Projects that crossover between skills encourages teamwork, collaboration, patience, and creativity. Page County Technical Center prides itself on the experiences that are made possible during their time spent at the facility.
