Yesterday afternoon Page County Technical Center held its 5th annual "Signing Day" to celebrate 14 students who will enter the workforce directly following graduation from high school. These students will use the skills they have mastered over the past two years from the programs in which they were enrolled. PCPS is proud of the Page County Technical Center and the opportunities that are available to the students. Thank you to the business and organizations that support these programs. Your participation and support is vital to PCTC and PCPS.

Students in the PCTC Nurse Aide class recently completed their required clinical hours. They went to Skyview Springs and got to put what they had learned and practiced throughout the year to use! Students bonded with residents while caring for their everyday needs. It was a great experience, and a few students have already applied for jobs! Congratulations to the PCTC Nurse Aides class.

Stanley Elementary School has been cleared by the Stanley Fire Department; however, while thermal images by the Fire Department show no active fire, out of an abundance of caution to determine the cause of a potential electrical situation this morning, we will be dismissing Stanley Elementary School early.
PCPS will provide transportation home for all students who need it and we will share an estimated time of departure from Stanley Elementary School shortly. If parents or guardians opt to pick up their child, please have a photo ID ready and follow all directions of staff while on site.
PCPS will provide a bag lunch ad drink to all students to take home. Please be advised that students will not be able to return to their classrooms to get their belongings before being dismissed.
We ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate this unexpected situation. Please stand by for more information shortly. Thank you.

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!!
Be sure to thank your teachers this week for all they do for your children.

This year English Learner Night focused on cultural arts. Students learned about Frida Kahlo and created their own self portraits. We did a unit on “The Best Part of Me” where they chose what they liked best about themselves and wrote about it.
For their family connect project they picked a famous artist from their home countries and did projects that were displayed.
This year we had several teachers join us and our middle school Spanish teacher had her students create projects to display as well. We hope to continue to grow this event and have more of our families participate.
