On November 6, 2023 , Virginia Agriculture in the Classroom awarded over $36,000 in grants for educational projects. This year's winners were represented by 75 grants in 51 Virginia localities for the 2023-2024 school year. PCPS is proud to announce that one of our own is a recipient of one of the grants being given.
1st grade teacher, Wanda Plum, of Shenandoah Elementary School is one of the 75 recipients to be awarded this year. Mrs. Plum plans to use the grant money to organize a Mini Master Chef Event. Students will get to cook with fresh farm ingredients and then share the meal with their families. No final date has been set, but she hopes to hold the event in January or early February.
The Virginia Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that promotes a greater understanding and appreciation of agriculture through education and outreach activities.
