Stanley Elementary School

PCPS just completed its second year of the ACSE (Advancing Computer Science Education) grant funded by VDOE. This year the focus was for secondary teachers.  In this grant teachers worked hard to create lessons that not only taught their subject area, but creatively included Computer Science SOL Standards.  Each teacher created 6 lessons during the first semester and delivered their lessons to their classes. Subject areas ranged from 6th grade Family Consumer Sciences, to Algebra, to Chemistry, to World Geography, and even 12th grade English.  Teachers uploaded their lessons on GoOpenVa as part of the grant requirements, so any teacher who is curious can search for Page County ACSE on that platform to see all of the amazing lessons that were made.  This program was led by PCPS ITRTS: Tracy Shifflett, Kristin Vaughn, and Nichole Brumfield.
